Surrounded by nature in the Dordogne
Camping Les Tailladis is a wonderfully peaceful small campsite on the banks of the River Beune, in the valley of the same name. A relaxed atmosphere is at the heart of everything here. The Hirsch family, originally from the Netherlands, started this welcoming campsite almost 60 years ago, three generations back. Respect for nature, no unnecessary frills, just a wonderfully relaxing holiday – that’s exactly what you’ll find at Camping Les Tailladis.
The surrounding area is perfect for exploring the great outdoors. Whether on foot, by bike or on the water, there’s plenty to discover. Owner Yuri regularly organises canoe trips on the Dordogne, a fantastic way to experience the region. There’s plenty of water fun on the campsite too, with a natural swimming pool fed by the River Beune and a lovely heated outdoor pool complete with paddling pool and waterfall. A little further along the Beune, you’ll find the Etang de Tamniès swimming and fishing lake, complete with a sandy beach – perfect for warm summer days.
During the high season, the multilingual team at Les Tailladis organises plenty of enjoyable activities, including pétanque tournaments, quizzes and games. Excursions to local attractions are also regularly arranged. For a meal out, the campsite restaurant serves delicious regional specialities, and throughout the season you can often enjoy live music from visiting bands.
The Dordogne is renowned for its castles, caves and beautiful natural landscapes. Alongside canoe trips on the Dordogne, you can set off directly from the campsite on a variety of scenic walking and cycling routes. Soak up the local culture at the famous Lascaux caves or in charming towns such as Sarlat, which is also excellent for shopping. Both are less than 15 minutes from Camping Les Tailladis. Even closer by, you'll find impressive medieval heritage sites, including the town of Beynac and Château des Milandes, once home to Josephine Baker. Here, you can also enjoy a spectacular daily birds of prey display.
