Regal glamping in the Loire Valley
Camping Château des Marais is a small, family-friendly campsite in Muides-sur-Loire. Between Tours and Orléans, close to the beautiful forests and the impressive Château de Chambord, and just a fifteen-minute walk from the River Loire.
The pitches are shaded and surrounded by greenery. The safari tents are generously spaced with plenty of privacy. There is a restaurant serving delicious local dishes. You can order takeaway meals, there is a campsite shop for everyday essentials, and of course fresh bread rolls in the morning. And for those who truly want to unwind, treat yourself to a relaxing time in the wellness centre, with hammam, sauna and hot tub.
There is plenty of entertainment for children. There is an aquapark with several heated pools, water slides, a water play area and a lazy river. The pools have a playful design. Sun loungers and parasols are arranged around the pool. In addition, there is a playground, bouncy castle, fishing pond, pedal karts, bicycle and kayak hire, mini golf, a games room and various sports fields. The friendly entertainment team also organises games, activities and themed evenings for young guests in the Kids, Juniors and Teens Club.
Muides-sur-Loire is known as the ‘Garden of France’. The surrounding area is rich in natural beauty, also close to the campsite. Just 200 metres away flows the River Loire, and right next to the campsite there is a forest where wild boar and even deer can be seen roaming.
Tips in the surroundings of Château des Marais
- The surrounding area is stunning. Hire a kayak or canoe and admire the region from the water.
- Take a guided tour of the famous Château de Chambord. This extravagant château is located 6 kilometres from the campsite.
- The châteaux of Amboise and Blois are also well worth a visit.
- Visit Orléans or Tours, whose historic centres are steeped in French history.
- Hire bicycles, follow one of the many cycle paths along the river and be enchanted by the châteaux of the Loire.
- Spend a day at the zoo in Beauval.
- Visit the Maison des Vins de Cheverny vineyard in Cheverny.
