Friendly family campsite on the Veluwe
Camping de Zandhegge is a beautiful family campsite on the Veluwe, between the charming villages of Epe and Vaassen. The campsite is surrounded by woodland, making it the perfect base for walking and cycling enthusiasts. With fun activities nearby, a warm and welcoming atmosphere and plenty of entertainment in both sunny and rainy weather, this is a wonderful holiday destination for all ages.
The campsite has a heated outdoor swimming pool with a separate paddling pool, open from the end of April until mid-September for both leisurely swimming and doing lengths.
There are several playgrounds spread throughout the campsite, with the highlight being the indoor play area Heggies Speelschuur, centrally located near reception. There is a large grassy sports field with football goals, a table tennis table and a volleyball net. There is also a separate play area with three trampolines, an air trampoline and a panna football pitch. Behind reception, you'll find an animal meadow. During the school holidays, there is a fun entertainment programme for children up to around 10 years old.
Go-karts can be hired for a small fee. The campsite is fully enclosed, so children can safely ride around and explore.
Next to the indoor play area you'll find Heggies Eeterij, with a lovely terrace overlooking the swimming pool. Here you can enjoy a cup of coffee, a freshly made sandwich, a tasty main dish or a soft ice cream. You can also collect takeaway meals here. Chips, snacks and ice creams are available from the snack bar. At reception, the small campsite shop stocks everyday essentials, souvenirs and toys. Fresh bread rolls can also be ordered here daily.
Our safari lodges are spaciously positioned in peaceful locations and offer every comfort: a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, comfortable beds and a large veranda with a lounge set and picnic bench.
Experience the diversity of the Veluwe. Explore the beautiful countryside on foot or by bike, starting directly from the campsite (bikes are available to hire at the campsite). The IJssel Valley and the nearby Kroondomeinen are also highly recommended. The reception team will be happy to provide more information about fun days out in the area.
