Glamping in Friesland's lake district
A glamping holiday in the Netherlands combined with plenty of time on and around the water – you'll find it all at the small, green watersports campsite Vrijhaven in Heeg. Wonderfully peaceful, within walking distance of the charming village centre and surrounded by the waterways that make Friesland so famous. The campsite has a lovely little beach for swimming and its own jetties. From the campsite, you can sail straight onto the Idzegaasterpoel and explore the beautiful Frisian waterways beyond.
The lodge tents are fully equipped with their own kitchen, comfortable beds and a bathroom with shower and toilet. During your stay, you'll be almost on the water – every pitch is literally just a few steps from the Weisleat.
Naturally, you can hire all kinds of watersports equipment at the campsite, from windsurfing boards to SUP boards and from sailing boats to electric sloops. But there's plenty to enjoy away from the water too. Follow the famous Eleven Cities cycling route, sample a Beerenburg liqueur at Widow Joustra in Sneek, or simply soak up the peace and quiet.
